Residents Encouraged To Participate In Southern Alberta Summer Games

Residents of Lethbridge are invited to register to share their photography skills, compete in cribbage, race in 5 and 10 km runs,  or put together teams to play 3 on 3 basketball, rugby or beach volleyball.  In total 18 competitive events will be taking place from July 3 to 6 in Taber, for this year’s Southern Alberta Summer Games, and all ages and levels of competition are needed to represent Lethbridge at the Games.  Deadline to register is June 4 at 4:30 p.m.

Inspired by the success of last year's Earth Day community event celebrating slow food, the Galt Museum & Archives and Slow Food Southern Alberta Convivium [SFSAC] invite you to walk, bike, skate or skip on over to the Galt this year on Sunday, April 21 from 1:00–5:00 p.m. for Museum Community Day: Earth Day–a chance to meet local producers, sample local foods, and take in tastings and cooking demonstrations.

The reason this fraud is receiving special attention during Fraud Prevention month is that it is so prevalent across Canada. Although most of us feel confident we are protecting ourselves and our ID there is evidence to the contrary. Card skimming machines are inexpensive and the thieves are becoming more adept at obtaining information. The BBB serving Southern Alberta recommends that consumers take steps to protect themselves from becoming a victim.

BMO Financial Group Donates Collection of De Grandmaison Portraits to U Of L Art Gallery

BMO Financial Group is donating 67 original pastel portraits by Nicholas de Grandmaison (1892-1978) from its art collection to the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery.

The collection, which is valued at more than $1.66 million, spans a period of more than 30 years and traces the development of de Grandmaison's talent and facility as one of the most important painters and portraitists of western First Nations people in Canada.

Davidson & Williams LLP Receives Prestigious Award from Pro Bono Law Alberta

Davidson & Williams LLP is honoured to receive the "Pro Bono Leader in the Community Award" from the Pro Bono Law Alberta Board of Directors. Pro Bono Law Alberta (PBLA) is a charitable organization that promotes access to justice in Alberta by creating and promoting opportunities for lawyers to provide pro bono (free) legal services to persons of limited means. PBLA was formed in 2007 as the legacy project in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Law Society of Alberta.
