Last night New West Theatre put on its second performance of Party On! complete with high-energy comedy, songs, and dance. The show featured classic party songs perfect for summer. From Phil Collins to Whitney Houston, hits from all your favourite artists made an appearance in the lineup.

Behind the Scenes, A Visit with Cirque du Soleil (Paige Murray)

The last time I went to a Cirque du Soleil performance I had just entered my teen years. I distinctly remember struggling with my evening's choice of ensemble, more than I remember the show itself. However, adolescent graphic-t's, DC skate shoes, and hormonal mood swings aside, the extraordinary skill and talent displayed at the event was not lost on me and it's something that has continued to mesmerize me over the years. I'm challenged by 30 consecutive "girl push-ups," so people climbing a rope the height of an arena using only the strength of their arms is unbelievable! As well as a definite blow to my self-esteem.

Over the last month or so it's been fairly slow in the office. Our May/June issue came out the second week of May, which meant getting a start on my new stories for the July/August issue.

For the three weeks I worked on my articles I had a constant rumbling in my tummy paired with sporadic food cravings, as–spoiler alert–both stories were centred on home-grown food.
